So the plans for the basement are officially at the town inspector and we are just waiting for him to sign off on the permits. More waiting... not my strong suit. But since we are now just waiting for permits, our contractor met up with us and the plumbers to look over the plans together and make some decisions as to who needs to do what and when.
From where I am standing (future laundry room) the floor is going to need to be cut/jackhammered to open it up to put in sewer lines. A BIG job lies ahead for either the plumbers or young William depending on cost and time.
A plumbing stack is going to be installed roughly where the sink is currently. This is were the kitchen will be.
This whole space will be where the bathroom is. The room with the light on is where the tub will be. Next to it is where the vanity will go. In front of the room with the light is where the shower will be.
We have a cold storage room (that reminds me of the Blair Witch basement so I don't go into it :) This is where the sewer line clean out is, as well as the main line to turn off the water. The crazy thing is, it could very well be where the water is turned off for the whole block since it is what you would usually see in the street. This could be an issue...
From what our contractor said, we should (fingers crossed) hear from the town this week that we have permits and he can officially start the demolition. So for now, I need to take a page from the fur babies book and relax.
But what is more realistic is that I will be looking at these plans and deciding on tiles and the tub, paint colours, and carpet. You know... the important stuff!
The important stuff, and the fun stuff!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like to think "um, paint" when things are more like, "holy crap!".:-)
