All done with framing and jackhammering

We went out with some vinyl flooring for the kitchen and laundry room just over a week ago.  When we got there the plumber was busy jackhammering the floor and the contractor was busy finishing up on the framing for the bedroom.  We didn't stay long cause we just felt we were in the way.

William took this past Friday off so we drove out with the new washer and dryer and to poke our noses as to how everything was going.

This is how the laundry room is looking

The walk-in closet.  My father-in-law and the contractor had a bet going.  Dad said that I would think the closet was too large, while Al our contractor said I would be just fine with the closet space.  Dad lost five dollars.  Never bet against a woman and her closet!! ;)

And this is the other side standing next to the laundry room

The next two weeks are going to be crazy busy for me with school and such.  I won't have time to get as much shopping done for the renovation as I would like and let's face it.  That is WAY more fun than marking papers or writing some of my own!  At the very least I am looking forward to the next visit out to see everything.  The electrical is the next step so we have light everywhere.  Excellent!

Framing/Starting to look like Something!

I drove out to the church yesterday (thank goodness it was yesterday as today it is snowing and warnings of ice rain.  First day of spring they say...)  I wanted to chat with the guys regarding some deals I found on a few things.  Looks like there is some major shopping in my future.  Anyway here are a few pictures of the framing.

Here is the support for the main beam, as well as walls for multiple rooms.

William took great care to measure out exactly where his TV needs to go.  That little box in the center is framed for the flat screen.

Here is the laundry room.  For the record, it is larger than our current bathroom.  The door next to it is roughly where our bedroom is.

And here are the closets for the sump pump (right) and coats (left).

As you walk into the basement this is how everything is looking.

I'm not going to lie everyone, I am getting really excited!  It is starting to actually look like what we have been talking about for months.  I'm not sure if the guys will be driving out today since the weather isn't what the first day of spring should look like...
This picture was just taken.  From the time it took me to take the picture and upload it, the amount of snow coming down has tripled. UH!!! Happy first day of spring everyone!

Church Reno has officially begun!

Hi everyone!  Well it is officially a renovation!  It took FOREVER for us to receive the permits and recommendations from the inspector.  He gave us some interesting recommendations and things he insisted on but let's put that behind us.  It has begun!  We are hoping that everything will begin to snowball and before we know it we will be moving in.

This first picture is all the paperwork we have been waiting for.  I felt that since we have waited so long for it, it deserves to be the first pic

Remember all that work we did trimming the hedges and trees....

We needed to make room for the truck and trailer

A bobcat also needed to come in and move snow away from the building

All the framing has been taken down

And all the make shift walls have also been taken down

We are keeping any of the lumber that can be reused.  The rest made a nice "little" pile

The trailer was FULL

The jyprock/drywall (depending on what you like to call it) is being delivered this coming week and should be up not long after.

Welcome back to my crazy adventure!  I should have all sorts of pictures and stories now that everything is up and running. :)
